Adele Puckrin attended Redcar Community College from 1998 - 2003. She was a high performing student who was a very popular young lady.Sadly, Adele developed a brain tumour and suffered in the final year of her school life. Despite this major illness she continued to strive to achieve brilliant results. She completed all her coursework on time and managed to take some of her GCSEs. Unfortunately Adele couldn’t complete them all, she was too poorly. In the GCSEs she took she achieved A* - C in all of them. Adele died in November six years ago and her parents collected her certificates posthumously at the college Celebration of Acheivement evening. Adele’s parents wanted to celebrate her life and so developed The Adele’s Trust. This is a make-a-wish charity which gives children who are terminally ill a special wish. Redcar Community College celebrates Adele’s life by raising money each year, this includes: • Selling purple ribbons • Wearing something purple • Holding a coffee evening • Raffles and tombola’s • School disco Each year we have donated approximately £900 to The Adele’s Trust and we hope to exceed that total this year. |
