Shoe Boxes for Children in Distress |

 In the build-up to Christmas the thoughts of the students at Redcar Community College always turn to those less fortunate than themselves; and this year was no exception.
Again, as they have done for a number of years, the students decided to support the Children in Distress charity. Staff from this charity visit Romania several times each year, taking gifts and materials for children; they support several day medical centres and orphanages in Bucharest. This year the students filled and decorated 180 shoe boxes to be sent to children in these centres.
The boxes were wrapped as Christmas presents and contained many gifts for the children; these included cosmetics, toys, sweets and clothes. The students worked together in groups to prepare the boxes and were supported in this project by contributions from the local community following an appeal. |
