A Host Of Golden Daffodils PDF Print E-mail

In 1979, Westfields School on Kirkleatham Lane carried out a project of planting daffodil bulbs along the lane. For many years they bloomed
beautifully.

As a result of a number of pipe and cable laying sessions by a number of companies, along Kirkleatham Lane, many of the flowers were destroyed.

Westfields School is now Redcar Community College and we would like to replant as many bulbs as possible to replace those missing.

The charity Myasthenia Gravis, sometimes known as the Rag Doll Charity, donated 800 bulbs.

In return we agreed to obtain as much publicity as possible for the charity and also raise money to support them. Having discussed this with Redcar and Cleveland Council, they also provided us with another 500 bulbs and agreed to help us each year to plant daffodils in other areas of Kirkleatham Lane.
