A place to achieve
Achievement at Redcar Community College is always a priority and in recent years it has risen consistently every year. Our ability to support individual achievement, whatever a student’s starting point, is good and is well above the national average. We can deliver this high level of achievement for all students because we have an outstanding curriculum and because we track, monitor and intervene quickly if a student’s progress starts to fall behind.
Some of our students will become doctors, lawyers, scientists or famous performers but all of them will be supported to do their personal best. Achievement takes many forms.
Aiming high
We understand that after knowing that their child will be safe and happy at school every parent wants to be assured that their child will also thrive and be able to “do their best”. This is of course is our own aim, we work to ensure that standards are high and that potential is realised for each individual student. We can do this because we offer an outstanding and highly personalised curriculum which is designed to engage and motivate the students. We only appoint the best staff and no teacher is appointed without being observed, we also routinely update the training of the whole staff to seek continuous improvement. This is why results in the school have continued to rise so dramatically. Beyond all of this we also monitor academic progress carefully and methodically and each year group have an academic year leader who oversees students’ individual progress.
We have experienced staff working with the most able and talented students to provide challenge for these high achievers rather than simply burdening them with “extra work” we also have a clear focus on the STEM subjects (STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Academic excellence is recognised and rewarded at Redcar Community College.
“All of the staff are willing to help and work to get the results you want.”
