Terms & Conditions
Redcar Community College actively encourages the use of its premises by the members of our community. We aim to fully carry out the 1986 Education (No.2) Act which requires articles of government to provide for governing bodies to:
“exercise control subject to any direction given to them by the Local Authority and in so doing to have regard to the desirability of the premises being available for use by members of the community served by the school”
The Youth Service uses the following facilities
• Compass Centre main hall, Youth Service office, toilets, lounge area plus the Sports Hall.
• Evenings used: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7.00 pm until 9.30 pm throughout the year.
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts use the following facilities:
• Compass Centre main hall every Wednesday evening 5.00 pm until 9.00 pm throughout the year.
If the community wish to access areas of the College then they will pay the agreed “Lettings” cost, please see Appendix A. However the College does not approve of any member of the community sub-letting to other organisations or individuals. If a local club, organisation or individual wishes to use Redcar Community College facilities, then they should make a booking through the college Extended Services Programme Assistant. At all times the Facilities Manager, acting on behalf of the Head Teacher, is in overall charge of the premises.
Lettings/facility users are not to take any equipment outside the building without permission from the Facilities Manager. The lettings/facility user is responsible for reporting damage and replacing broken equipment.
A. Any changes that the lettings/facility user wishes to make to any Redcar Community College equipment they have hired as part of their let, must first be agreed following consultation with the Facilities Manager. Casual Lettings of other facilities (mainly the stage and hall), agreed by the college with local organisations can be another form of income.
In making bookings and setting charges we must follow VAT guidelines. A booking form (Appendix B) must be completed and signed by the group organiser, who will then be responsible for payment. None payment may result in cancellation of future bookings.
Other areas of the college are available for lettings/bookings and pricing will be decided upon.
Full Fees: The prices quoted are for voluntary sector and community groups. Statutory and private sector rates of hire of any room are double each of the standard prices.
Special Fees – Some facilities/activities have special fees. Please ask the college centre for details.
(Booking fee to be paid in full by end of period. Failure to pay for all sessions, regardless of attendance, will require VAT to be added to amounts already paid.)
I understand that as the hirer of the facilities that I must undergo the health and safety induction session with the Facilities Manager before the first lettings/booking date.
