A group of students from Redcar Community College, along with the townsfolk of Redcar, turned out in force as 198 troops of the Yorkshire Regiment, led by a 30-strong band of The King’s Division, marched through the town with military precision on Wednesday 18th June to celebrate being granted the Freedom of both boroughs of Middlesbrough, and Redcar. The parade was led by Green Howard’s second in command Mark Bower, who returned from Afghanistan in April. |

When Andrea Craig received a letter from the Queen she could not believe the words on the paper. Inspirational Andrea, who shares her life with lots of children said she felt “humble and emotional” when she heard she had been awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to children and families. |
